How We Verify a Game Is Truly Offline
'Playable offline' is one of the most abused phrases on app stores. A lot of games load their menu without a connection and then break the moment you try to actually play. We test every game to sort the real from the fake.
Our routine is simple. Install the game with a connection, then switch to airplane mode before opening it for the first time. If it demands a login or refuses to start, that's an immediate fail.
Next we play a full session offline — a mission, a few levels, a chunk of story. Then we force-close the app and reopen it, still offline, to check that progress saved locally. Cloud-only saves are a red flag.
Only after all that does a game get our offline recommendation. It's a small thing, but it's the whole reason this site exists, so we take it seriously.
