How I Play Long Sessions Without Killing My Battery

Long offline sessions are great until your battery hits ten percent an hour into a flight. A few small changes make a real difference, and none of them require a special app.

Start with brightness. Most games look fine at 60 percent, and dropping from max is the single biggest saver. Turn on the battery saver mode too — it caps background activity that games don't need.

Airplane mode isn't just for planes. Turning off the radios stops your phone constantly searching for a signal, which drains power fast in weak coverage. For offline games you lose nothing by switching it on.

Finally, watch the frame rate settings if a game has them. Locking to 30 fps in a slower game saves noticeable power and you often won't feel the difference at all.
