Puzzle Games That Actually Relax You
Not all puzzle games are relaxing. Plenty of them use timers, lives, and pressure to keep you tense. If you're trying to wind down before bed, that's the opposite of what you want.
The good ones give you room to think. No countdown, no penalty for taking your time, and difficulty that rises gently instead of spiking. Bonus points for a warm art style and quiet music.
I tend to favor puzzlers with some kind of gentle progression — a garden that grows, a picture that fills in — because it gives each solved board a small payoff without being pushy about it.
Turn off notifications, dim the screen, and give yourself twenty minutes. The right puzzle game is a much better sleep aid than doomscrolling.
